Claudia Mornroy

Artist Bio:

Claudia Monory is a multimedia artist/art teacher currently living in Long Beach, California. Her work ranges from mixed media to fiber arts, ceramics and more recently musical composition. Her interest is more aligned with conceptual work rather than visual ends. Her aim is to elicit ideas and questions about  how we perceive, experience and interact with the world.  Over the years her work as art teacher has inspired a more exploratory and less commercial approach to creativity.

Artist Statment:

The Envelope Field Notes Journal evolved out of a collaboration with Scrap Gallery.  The idea is to create an ever evolving journal that is made from reused envelopes and other materials.  

 

As an art teacher, I have a variety of supplies that I have used with students and thought it would be a good idea to include them in these kits.  

 

My hope is that this project will inspire exploration of your surroundings and provide a place where you can record or sketch your thoughts and collect interesting finds.  

 

I have included seeds suspended in handmade paper which can be planted at home or during a walk.

 

This project is a great way to invite kids to explore, observe, record and express themselves, while co-creating with the original idea.
